Am letzten Samstag, den 22.03.2025, wurde Dr, Mahrang Baloch in Quetta, der Hauptstadt Belutschistans, bei einer Sitzblockade festgenommen und verhaftet. Einen Tag zuvor eröffnete die pakistanische Polizei das Feuer gegen Demonstrant:innen eines friedlichen Protestes, wobei drei Personen erschossen und viele verletzt wurden. Die Sitzblockade war eine widerständige Antwort auf die Gewalt und Tötung von Zivilist:innen. 

Dr. Mahrang Baloch ist Leitung des Baloch Yakjehti Komitees. Vor kurzem erst wurde sie auf Grund ihres Aktivismus für Gerechtigkeit und die Einhaltung der Menschenrechte für den Nobelpreis 2025 nominiert und ist Initiativkraft großer Proteste in Belutschistan.  

Seit der Verhaftung wird Dr. Mahrang Baloch der Kontakt zu Rechtsanwält:innen, Freund:innen und Familie verwehrt. 

Wir stehen an der Seite der widerständigen, mutigen und starken Frauen in Belutschistan, die für Gerechtigkeit und Freiheit kämpfen. Wir fordern die sofortige Freilassung von Dr. Mahrang Baloch und allen weiteren Inhaftierten! Außerdem gedenken wir den Ermordeten und stehen an der Seite ihrer trauernden Familien und Freund:innen. 

In Belutschistan sehen wir koloniale Kontinuitäten seit der willkürlichen Grenzziehung der Briten im 19. Jahrhundert. Seitdem liegt das Land in Teilen Pakistans, Irans und Südafghanistans.

In den letzten Jahrzehnten intensivierten sich die  gesellschaftlichen Kämpfe für Gerechtigkeit und Selbstbestimmung. Diese Autonomiebestrebungen werden brutal unterdrückt. Das gewaltsame Verschwindenlassen, Inhaftieren und Töten sind zu einem Instrument der Aufstandsbekämpfung der pakistanischen Armee in der Provinz geworden.

Ob in Belutschistan, West- Sahara, den Philippinen, Abya Yala, Kurdistan, Palästina und vielen weiteren Orten, überall sehen wir wie vor allem Frauen und weitere unterdrückte und widerständige Geschlechter für Gerechtigkeit, Freiheit und Frieden kämpfen. 

Sie organisieren sich und die Gesellschaft und zeigen mit ihrer Kraft und Konsequenz Perspektiven auf. In ihrem Widerstand liegt die Hoffnung auf eine andere Welt. 

Unsere Kämpfe gegen kapitalistische und patriarchale Ausbeutung, Unterdrückung, die Gewalt und die Kriege weltweit sind eng miteinander verbunden. Wir kämpfen gegen diese patriarchalen Mentalitäten und für das freie Leben aller! Vereint sind wir eine Bedrohung für die patriarchalen Staaten und unser gemeinsamer Widerstand zeigt uns den Weg zu einer Welt frei von Unterdrückung.

Last Saturday, 22nd of March 2025, Dr. Mahrang Baloch was arrested and detained in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, during a sit-in. A day earlier, Pakistani police opened fire on demonstrators of a peaceful protest, shooting dead three people and injuring many. The sit-in was a defiant response to violence and the killing of civilians. 

Dr. Mahrang Baloch is the head of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee. She was recently nominated for the Nobel Prize 2025 for her activism for justice and respect for human rights and is the initiator of major protests in Balochistan.  

Since her arrest, Dr. Mahrang Baloch has been denied contact with lawyers, friends and family. 

We stand with the resistant, courageous and strong women in Balochistan who are fighting for justice and freedom. We demand the immediate release of Dr. Mahrang Baloch and all other detainees! We also remember the murdered and stand with their grieving families and friends. 

In Balochistan, we see colonial continuities since the arbitrary demarcation of borders by the British in the 19th century.

Since then, Balochistan has been located in parts of Pakistan, Iran and southern Afghanistan.

For decades, there have been social struggles for justice and self-determination. These efforts for autonomy are brutally suppressed. Enforced disappearances, imprisonment and killings have become an instrument of the Pakistani army’s counter-insurgency campaign in the provinces.

Whether in Balochistan, Western Sahara, the Philippines, Abya Yala, Kurdistan, Palestine and many other places, everywhere we see women and other oppressed and resistant genders fighting for justice, freedom and peace. 

They are organizing themselves and society, using their strength and determination to open up new perspectives. In their resistance is the hope for a different world. 

Our struggles against capitalist and patriarchal exploitation, oppression, violence and wars worldwide are closely linked. We are fighting against these patriarchal mentalities and for the free life of all! United we are a threat to the patriarchal states and our common resistance shows us the way to a world free from oppression.
