Während in den letzten Tagen Erdogan den Kanton Cizire bedroht, besuchen wir ein Dorf von aus Afrîn geflüchteten Familien. Im Gebäude des Dorfrates von Til Nasri trefft ein Teil der Delegation der Kampagne „Gemeinsam kämpfen“ auf den Rat der Geflüchteten aus Afrîn, die in diesem Dorf untergekommen sind. Eine Begegnung, die uns unter die Haut geht. Fünf Stunden lang berichten uns die Augenzeuginnen und Protagonist*innen des Krieges in Afrîn aus ihrem Leben, wir weinen und lachen zusammen. Es schwebt im Raum, dass das was sie erlebt haben und uns gerade erzählen, eventuell den Menschen im Kanton Cizire auch drohen wird.
„Wir waren alle bis zur letzen Minute des Krieges in Afrîn, jetzt sind 118 Familien hier untergekommen“, berichtet Ehlam Omer uns. Til Nasri ist eigentlich ein assyrisches Dorf, das 2015 von Daesh eingenommen wurde. Hunderte Menschen wurden von hier entführt, einige vor laufenden Kameras hingerichtet. Danach haben fast alle Assyrer*innen das Dorf verlassen. Während der Befreiung dieses Dorfes hat Ivana Hoffmann aus Duisburg ihr Leben im Kampf gegen Daesh verloren. Doch davon werden wir an anderer Stelle berichten.
Zunächst erzählt Ehlam noch davon wie die Revolution in Afrîn sich entwickelte. Bis 2012, innerhalb eines Jahres wurden z.B. in allen 366 Dörfern kurdischsprachige Schulen aufgebaut. Die Armee des Regimes hatte sich weitgehend kampflos aus Afrîn zurückgezogen. Sieben Jahre war Afrîn danach unter einem fast totalen Embargo, Selbstversorgungstrukturen mussten aufgebaut werden. Trotzdem wurden zehntausende Menschen aus Halep (Aleppo) und Şahba aufgenommen und versorgt. Überall wurden Frauenkommunen aufgebaut und mit Sicherheit war Afrîn der Ort, an dem das System der Frauenbewegung am weitesten entwickelt war.
„Am 23. Januar begannen türkische Kampfflugzeuge gegen vier Uhr nachmittags Afrîn zu bombardieren. Wir hatten die Drohung Erdogans erst nicht so richtig ernst genommen. Wir konnten uns nicht vorstellen, dass er einfach so zivile Dörfer und sogar die Stadt Afrîn bombardiert. Ich war in die Stadt gefahren, um Freund*innen zu besuchen. Dann erreichte mich ein Anruf, mein kleiner Sohn war am Telefon, weinte und schrie, ich soll sofort kommen, das Dorf werde bombardiert. Vor Angst bin ich fast gestorben, ich habe kein Auto gefunden, das mich ins Dorf bringt, die Telefone haben nicht mehr funktioniert“. Bis vier Uhr morgens Ungewissheit, auch über die Tochter, die sich in einem YPJ Punkt befand, der bombardiert wurde.
„Was ich erlebt habe, haben alle Mütter hier erlebt, denn aus fast jeder Familie waren Töchter oder Söhne bei den YPG und YPJ.“ Sie berichtet weiter, dass alle Kämpfer*innen der YPG und YPJ zu 100% aus Afrîn waren, denn aufgrund der Belagerung der Türkei von allen Seiten, war eine Selbstverteidigung innerhalb der Bevölkerung aufgebaut worden. „Wir haben versucht, an der Grenze Aktionen gegen den Krieg zu machen, uns als lebende Schutzschilde vor die Soldaten zu stellen, aber sie haben einfach auf die Frauen geschossen, Fatma, eine Mutter von vier Kindern, wurde dabei getötet. Die Türkei hatte Camps auf der anderen Seite vorbereitet, sie wollten das Land entvölkern.“ Ehlam berichtet weiter, dass die Bevölkerung entschlossen war nicht zurückzuweichen, aber die Kampfjets der Türkei bombardierten die Dörfer rücksichtslos. Dennoch glaubten die Menschen zunächst, die Stadt würde verschont werden. Auch zivile Konvois, die aus Minbic, Kobanî und Cizire zur Unterstützung gekommen waren, wurden aus der Luft bombardiert. Zunächst von Jets, später auch von bewaffneten Drohnen.
„Wir hatten keine Erfahrung im Kampf gegen eine NATO Armee“, berichtet heval Xelil. „Aber ohne die Luftangriffe hätten wir Afrîn am Boden noch monatelang verteidigen können. 90% der Kämpfer*innen als auch Zivilist*innen sind durch Luftangriffe gefallen.“ Während wir hier zusammen sitzen und sprechen, laufen im Fernsehen, der an der Wand hängt, Bilder der aktuellen Bedrohung durch Erdogan, man sieht Trump, Panzer an der Grenze. „In Afrîn hat es genauso angefangen“, sagt heval Xelil. „Jetzt sagt Trump, wir werden uns zurückziehen. In Afrîn war es Russland, die haben sich auch zurückgezogen. Wenn sich jetzt Amerika zurückzieht, ist das genau das gleiche.“ Diese Luftangriffe hätten enorme psychische Auswirkungen auf die Kinder. Sie spielen immer noch mit Stöcken, als seien diese Waffen. In dem Moment zeigt Xelil nach draußen, wo tatsächlich einige Kinder herumlaufen und so tun, als würden sie mit Gewehren aufeinander schießen. „Mein kleiner Sohn hat drei Monate nach dem Krieg nicht gesprochen und jede Nacht eingenässt“, berichtet Rûxweş.
„Irgendwann war klar, dass kein Mensch lebend aus der Stadt herauskommen würde. Wir mussten gehen. Wir sind nach Şahba geflohen. Als wir dort angekommen sind, hat mein Telefon geklingelt. Es war die Kommandantin meiner Tochter Kurdistan. Kurdistan hatte sich den YPJ angeschlossen. Sie ist am 15. März, an dem wir Afrîn verlassen mussten, durch einen Luftangriff gefallen.“ Unter Tränen berichtet Ehlam weiter, dass Kurdistan ihr gesagt hatte: „Wenn ich falle Mama, musst du ein Lied für mich singen. Ich kann dieses Lied nicht singen, bevor ich nicht zurück bin auf dem Boden von Afrîn. Viele Mütter haben den Tod ihrer Kinder nicht offiziell bekannt gegeben, das machen wir erst, wenn wir wieder in Afrîn sind. Kurdistan wollte, dass ich dieses Lied für sie zuhause singe. Meine Tochter ist für unser Land gefallen, und wir haben dieses Land trotzdem verlassen müssen, das ist das Schlimmste für mich. Es ging Erdogan nicht nur darum, sich das Land anzueignen und auszuplündern, sondern auch darum einen Genozid an den Kurd*innen zu verüben. Und um ihm diese Genugtuung nicht zu lassen, sind wir aus Efrin weggegangen. Aber wir wollen zurück auf unsere Erde, für die unsere Kinder gefallen sind. Selbst wenn man mir hier alles vergolden würde, ich will zurück auf unsere Erde.“
Die anderen in der Runde nicken bestätigend. Ehlam berichtet weiter: „Heute erklärt Erdogan neue Drohungen gegen Cizire. Aber für uns gibt es kein Zurückweichen mehr, es gibt keinen Platz. Als wir in Afrîn waren, konnten wir noch sagen, wir gehen nach Şahba. Als wir in Şahba waren, konnten wir sagen, wir gehen nach Cizire. Jetzt wo wir in Cizire sind, gibt es keinen anderen Ort mehr, wo wir hingehen können. Wir gehen nirgendwo hin. Wie lange soll das noch weitergehen? All die ganzen Menschen, wo sollen die hin?“
Die Frage verhallt im Raum. Ein kurzer Moment der Stille, in dem jede von uns in Gedanken versunken ist. Elham spricht weiter: „Wir fordern eine Flugverbotszone über Nordostsyrien. Ohne die Bomben, wissen wir uns zu verteidigen. Mein anderer Appell richtet sich an die NATO-Staaten, sich Erdogans Aggressionen entgegen zu stellen. Niemand sollte diesem Wahnsinn gegenüber stumm bleiben. Wir wollen von niemanden Waffen, wir wollen von niemanden Geld, wir fordern nur einen politischen Willen, sich gegen die Angriffe der Türkei zu stellen.“
